The State Coach and coronation procession of King George VI are depicted going along Piccadilly on 12th May 1937, following the crowning ceremony in Westminster Abbey. London was lavishly decorated for the occason, with traffic islands, pavement masts and buildings adorned in red, white, blue and gold. Lavery included a self-portrait in his composition - he stands on a balcony on the left overlooking Piccadilly. This colorful enamel box captures the atmosphere of the original painting, which is now in the collection of the Museum of London. Limited edition of 100. 3.25" x 2.5" x 1" rectangular hinged box. Collector Circle piece. Brand new in padded presentation case. Circa 2007.
